FAQ's

Why is this important?

A physical strain is put on most women in Thailand and other similar countries in which they must carry heavy items to and from different villages. This creates problematic health and burden. There has to be another way to move all of these items without sacrificing the culture and way of life but relieving the physically strenuous burden.

How does the team work together?

The team meets approximately once a week outside of the allotted class time to be prepared with any material they were working on that week. To stay up to date with each other, they participate in a group chat. All materials are collaborated on through Google Drive and can be accessed at any time. The group is flexible to work around people's schedules and understands that other time commitments  occasionally get in the way. Each member participates to the best of their ability  the group respects one another's ideas and contributions.

What materials are used for the scale models?

Scale models can be made out of K'Nex pieces, popsicle sticks, toothpicks, straws, and various adhesives.

What will the actual model be made out of?

We are using PVC pipe to create an L frame. The sack of load is placed on the horizontal part while the vertical part has straps that are put on like a back pack.
